Stereovisuals: art and innovations

The Sunz.com site evolved as the content developed leading to a "Website Release Party" in San Francisco in Dec, 1996 at Anon Salon in conjunction with our most recent live show Corporate Product Demonstration 2.0 and the premiere of our video Domino Falls on Dirk Dirksen's cable access tv show.

Prior to that, by the end of 1995 I had a working Sunz website that showcased a technically sophisticated band of multimedia producers cutting the edge of a new paradigm. Needing to take it one step further I produced a mirror version of the Sunz site in Anaglyphic 3D and THAT is what I found at Archive.org. It's not complete but it's a marvel that it was preserved because we long ago gave up the domain name. We were very far ahead of our time in weird and wonderful ways.
Real Time Stereo Video
In 1993, I discovered this technique using two video cameras, two video projectors and two sets of polarized 3D glasses to create live stereoscopic video. The effect is AWESOME but it must be seen to be believed.

Discovery was still one of the perks for being on staff at the Exploratorium before the memory of Frank Oppenheimer was erased. After this discovery I proposed a series of new exhibits based on real-time projected stereoscopic reality but the museum wasn't interested.
In 2013 I revisited my 20 year old proposal considering the advances in technology and created a new proposal more ambitious than the first, The POV Matrix of Time and Space and certain to launch a revolution in the perception of time and space and what happens in the mix. Still, no takers.
Does anyone want to revolutionize the world? I'm good to go, waiting for you to notice what's possible.

1+1=3D
1+1=3D: A Tutorial
Isn't it odd that, for all the excitement of 3d modeling and animation applications, modelers and animators using these tools still typically look at a 2D view of the 3D virtual space? I thought so. Using Poser I figured out a better way by setting up a parallel view stereoscopic window that provides an exponentially better option. With one camera parented to another, 4D flying through animated sequences is unparalleled, so to speak. I'm pretty sure you haven't seen anything like it before. It was originally posted on Renderosity in 2003. I'm uploading it again with the hope that it will again inspire others to see for themselves how much of an improvement this is for this tool. I can not overstate how much easier it is to place and animate multiple objects in true stereoscopic 3D by eliminating the need to reposition the camera in order to make sure objects are in apparent proximity as desired This tutorial cracked open a universe I'm still positioned to be a pioneer within. I invite all interested to try. The Future Is In 3D |
